KACHIN STATE food

Kachin state is located in north-east Myanmar. Mostly Kachin foods are spicy,sour and not greasy. Kachin cuisine is cooked with lots of hubs and vegetables. I visited a Kachin traditional food restaurant in Sanchaung township, Yangon.

Hka Hku Kachin Traditional food restaurant was located at Sanchaung township. The restaurant was like a normal Myanmar restaurant. The shop was small but many customers visited here during I had a meal. There were some curries in the glass storage case.

The menu was simple. The price was also reasonable. I ordered plain rice,chicken curry,fried egg and grilled beef&pork.

KHACHIN FOOD IN HKA HKU

The chicken curry was a little spicy and sour. There were tea leaves, coriander,red paper and so on in the chicken curry. Actually this was first experience for Kachin food so I don’t know this was authentic taste or not. And the chicken had many sharp bones that I was difficult to eat the curry.

There were vegetables in the fried egg. It was warm and well cooked. I enjoyed it.

Grilled beef and pork were nice. The beef was a bit chewy but pork was soft. Some parts of meat were burn.

conclusion

If you have curiosity about Kachin food, you can visit here. Personally I was difficult to distinguish with Burmese curry and Kachin curry. I think the Kachin curry was not oily than Burmese curry. It was slightly spicy and sour. It was general taste for me.
