DAW YIN SHWE MOHINGA FOOD RESTAURANT IN YANGON, MYANMAR

Mohinga is a fish soup-based rice noodles.
This mohinga is Myanmar’s representative food and people usually eat for breakfast in a restaurant or tea house. When you eat the noodle, you can add duck eggs ,fried corn and so on.

I visited the famous Mohinga restaurant in Mayangon Township, Yangon.
The restaurant name is Daw Yin Shwe.
The restaurant opens from 6 pm to 5 am. I visited around 8 pm and the restaurant was already full of people.

At the entrance of the restaurant, customers lined up to take away the Mohinga.
Mohinga was boiling in a large pot and waiting for customers.

Look at this big pot. The mohinga soup is made of fish, onions, banana stems, chick pea, lemons, garlic, lemon grass, parsley and so on.

The restaurant was full of people, and the staffs were diligent to take orders. I ordered basic mohinga and added duck egg and corn fried. The basic mohinga is 600 kyat. Because I added the duck egg and corn fried, I paid total 1,000kyat.
Here is a local restaurant so the menu is written by Myanmar language and it is a bit difficult for foreigners to order.

Finally Mohinga came out. You can add red pepper powder, lemon and coriander. Since I like a coriander, I put the coriander in my noodle. But some restaurants add a coriander without notice. If you don’t like a coriander, you should inform to staffs before you order.

I forgot to take a picture for empty bowl because I enjoyed it. It was little salty for me and can’t feel fishy.
They gave only a small spoon without chopsticks. I split the duck egg with the spoon and eat it and corn fries with noodles. It was more tasty.  The mohinga was small to me but compare for price, it was reasonable price.
It’s open until dawn so when you are hungry at night, you can visit there.
